Doctoral Schools

De doctoraatsopleiding van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel wordt georganiseerd binnen 3 Doctoral Schools: Doctoral School of Human Sciences, Doctoral School of Natural Sciences and (Bioscience) Engineering en de Doctoral School of Life Sciences and Medicine.

Deze Doctoral Schools hebben als doel om de Doctoraatsopleiding een duidelijk kader te verlenen en op die manier de visibiliteit en uitstraling van het doctoraat te vergroten, zowel binnen als buiten de academische wereld.

Aan elke Doctoral School zullen verschillende faculteiten verbonden zijn, die samen de Doctoraatopleiding zullen organiseren. Welke faculteiten verbonden zullen zijn aan welke Doctoral School(s) wordt in de loop van het academiejaar beslist door de Decanen. Elke Doctoral School heeft een Directeur die instaat voor de dagelijkse leiding van zijn/haar Doctoral School en in overleg met de Doctoral School Raad en de andere Directeurs het beleid en de inhoud van de Doctoraatsopleiding zal bepalen.

VUBpress publiceert uw doctoraat

Als academische uitgeverij biedt VUBpress doctorandi de mogelijkheid om hun doctoraat op professionele manier te publiceren, tegen bijzonder competitieve prijzen, met een uitgebreide en flexibele service die veel verder gaat dan een loutere ‘print’opdracht.
Wat biedt VUBpress? VUBpress zorgt voor een aangepaste cover, kent een ISBN-nummer en wettelijk depot toe en zorgt voor een colofonpagina zodat het doctoraat gedeponeerd en auteursrechtelijk beschermd is. Ombudspersoon voor doctorandi

De Raad van Bestuur heeft op 6 oktober 2009 de Ombudspersoon voor doctorandi voor het academiejaar 2009-2010 aangeduid, nl. prof. dr. Ingrid Ponjaert-Kristoffersen. Als plaatsvervanger werd prof. dr. Christiane Van den Branden aangeduid. De Ombudspersoon voor doctorandi ontvangt opmerkingen en klachten van doctorandi die betrekking kunnen hebben op moeilijkheden in de betrekkingen met de promotor(en) of de (Interdisciplinaire) Commissie voor de Doctoraatsopvolging bij de voorbereiding en de uitvoering van het doctoraal onderzoek.
